Many translations of African literature from vernacular to non-vernacular or direct writings on Africans by whites have come across my desk, as have many translations of untouchable literature from vernacular to non-vernacular or direct writings on untouchables by non-untouchables or Hindus and their agents. The irony is that neither white scholars nor Indian scholars had an untouchable or Negro or sexual minority in their life, but they became free riders in the knowledge spaces of Negroes, untouchables, and sexual minorities. Remember, it is called exploitation of the most marginalized sections by the hegemonic groups in the world. They are black-skinned, white-masked, and Janus-faced theorists. Reject them. They are reducing the savage ideologies of their communities theoretically so that future generations may believe that their hegemonic communities are soft towards our communities.
It is a theoretical scandal.
