The Sandwiched Tigray Sexual Minorities in 954 Days of Tigray Genocide: The Politics of Race in Discrimination against Tigrayan LGBTQ People in the 954 Days of Tigray Genocide-Dr.Suryaraju Mattimalla

I have worked with Tigray-based sexual minorities individually. Because I am a foreigner, I have limitations in working with Tigray sexual minorities, so I have worked with gays, lesbians, transgender, and bisexual people from October 2016 to 2020, when I fled the region, and then started working with a few Amhara sexual minority people from 2021 until I fled Addis Abeba to Europe.

I have been working with sexual minorities for more than two decades, so I know their pain, suffering, persecution, violence, discrimination, hate, isolation, segregation, invisibility, and apathy suffered by cisgender communities in India, Brazil, Australia, Ethiopia, and Europe. I never had the opportunity to work with sexual minorities in Brazil, Australia, and Europe except through listening, reading, and participation in their dialogue on marginalities. I have never worked with any white-run LGBTQ organization. White-run LGBTQ organizations are racist without a doubt, just like Hindu-run LGBTQ organizations in India. I never worked with Hindu or Muslim-run LGBTQ organizations in India. I used to work with sexual minorities from the untouchable caste background under my registered organization. I worked with village-based sexual minorities rather than educated untouchable caste sexual minorities. Rural-based sexual minorities are more vulnerable to cisgender untouchable caste people internally in their ghettos and to Hindus and Muslims outside of their untouchable ghettos. However, there is a difference between cisgender untouchable caste people and cisgender Hindus and Muslims in violence against untouchable caste sexual minorities. The untouchable caste cisgender people never take the lives of sexual minorities, whereas Hindus and Muslims publicly kill and rape untouchable caste sexual minorities. Transgender untouchable caste people are more vulnerable to the Hindu and Muslim communities.

Sexual minorities of Hindu or Muslim origin persecute untouchable castes as a whole. The cisgender or sexual minority untouchable castes are equally vulnerable to both cisgender or sexual minority Hindu or Muslim communities throughout India. Caste kills more than COVID or AIDS. The number of sexual minority untouchable castes is much smaller than the number of Hindu background or Muslim background sexual minorities. I used to ask a few Hindu (Brahmin) background sexual minorities about their gender fluidity. They used to say they felt guilty for being sexual minorities, whereas untouchable caste sexual minorities said it is a natural feeling for their gender fluidity. Hindu or Islamic sexual minorities feel that they are abnormal or unnatural since they are LGBTQ people as opposed to untouchable caste sexual minorities. I worked with my fellow untouchable caste sexual minorities for a long time and randomly met some Hindu or Muslim sexual minorities throughout my journey.

I reached Ethiopia as an Assistant Professor and met LGBTQ people through my wife, who is a Royal family member. Her family ruled Ethiopia for a long time, and her family is considered a Tigray identity in Ethiopian politics. Her great grandfather, High Highness Yohannes IV, was Emperor of Ethiopia from 1871 until his death in 1889 at the Battle of Gallabat, and king of Ethiopia from 1869 to 1871, and her immediate grandfather, His Excellency Major General Dejazamtch Negusse Bezabih, Da' Meskel-Mekelle, Enderta, Tigray, the top leader and commander of the 1943 Woyane rebellion in Tigray is considered the father of the Tigray community. She is from a Noble family. Her family is known as philanthropists historically. Everything is their property in the Tigray region, but they don’t misuse their royal family powers. Even housemaids sit in front of them without any fear. They treat everyone equally, whether you are a royal family or a layman. They donated places for Mekelle International airport and a place for SOS-Children's school and donated a huge amount of money to every Orthodox Christian Church. They are still taking care of the entire village for the last 954 days in this Tigray genocide by the Islamic State ideologue Prime Minister of Ethiopia Mr.Abiy Ahmed and his notorious Islamic allies, Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and MENA region, who are seeking to establish an Islamic State with the support of Ethiopian Muslims and their PM Abiy Ahmed. Ethiopian Muslims are demanding to build a mosque in the Orthodox Christian holy places of Aksum, Lalibella, or Holy Trinity Cathedral, Bole Medhane Alem Cathedral. Religious Sites: Churches & Cathedrals, Rock-Hewn Churches of Lalibela, Azwa Mariam Monastery, Debre Libanos Monastery. Religious Sites, Northern Stelae Field, etc. Can any Muslim be okay with the construction of churches in their localities, forget Macca or Massid?

Even during my wife's great grandfather, Yohannes IV, the Emperor of Ethiopia from 1871 to his death in 1889, His Highness allowed Muslims to stay in front of his Royal Palace in Mekelle. My wife's family is so kind that they allow people to convert to Islam without any restrictions. Her immediate grandfather, too, allowed Muslims to construct mosques and run their business centers equally with Orthodox Christians in Mekelle. My wife's family even constructed a downtown for both Christians and Muslims equally and allowed Muslims to construct a mosque in mainstream Mekelle city without any tension. My wife's family is very kind toward not only Muslims but also every foreigner without any discrimination or hate. However, the later stringent rules came into existence during non-royal family rule in democratic Ethiopia. My wife's family never banned LGBTQ people throughout their rule in Ethiopia. The persecution of the LGBTQ community started with the Amhara Emperors and their leaders in the democratic state of Ethiopia. They started killing and raping LGBTQ communities across Ethiopia, including the Tigray region. The Amhara leadership began funding bipartisan leaders or anti-Royal family and anti- Major General Dejazamtch Negusse Bezabih members to persecute the LGBTQ community in Tigray. This is the project of Amhara leadership against the LGBTQ community in Ethiopia.

Tigrayan LGBTQ people were openly killed and lesbians were correctly raped and killed by Amhara-funded individuals and organizations in the Tigray region. Democracy started to eliminate sexual minorities in Ethiopia rather than Tigray Royal rule. As I knew, many Tigrayan gays have been killed, and Tigray lesbians are raped. Every Amhara funding individual in the Tigray region preyed on Tigrayan LGBTQ people. People are always with my wives' Royal families of His Highness Emperor Yohannes IV and H.E. Dejazamtch Negusse Bezabih.

The Tigray genocide started on December 1, 2019, on the day Abiy Ahmed assumed office as Prime Minister of Ethiopia and declared genocide on the Tigray ethnic community to be eliminated from the earth. There are 6 million Tigray people and 130 million non-Tigray ethnic people in Ethiopia. Amhara ethnic people number 40 million, and Oromia ethnic people number another 40 million. Two million Tigrayan people fled to Islamic Sudan. A half-million people have been killed. Tens of thousands of Tigray girls and women have been raped. Hundreds of villages have been destroyed and properties looted by Ethiopian, Eritrean, Turkish, Egyptian, and MENA armies, along with Amhara and Muslim communities. Amhara individuals and Muslims as a whole participated in this genocide against the minority Tigray ethnic people. The sexual minorities of Tigray ethnic communities too were killed, raped, and maimed for life, and a few of them fled to Islamic Sudan for protection. They can’t reveal the fact that they are LGBTQ to any UNHCR-run Muslims in Sudan.

Meanwhile, the Taliban started gaining territorial power in Afghanistan. The USA and its allies airlifted tens of thousands of Islamic State ideologues from Afghanistan to safe zones. Meanwhile, the Russia-Ukraine war started, and the entire world invited them without any restrictions. The entire world helps Ukraine's LGBTQ people or Afghan LGBTQ people, but powerful nations or organizations believe they did not help Afghans or Ukrainians sufficiently. They invited them heartfully by issuing visas or without any visas to their western safe countries. Canadians, Americans, or EU countries are happy that their beloved Afghans or Ukrainians are safe now.

Surprisingly, Rainbow Railroad and other LGBTQ organizations assisted or lifted Afghan LGBTQ, MENA-LGBTQ, and Ukrainian LGBTQ people during the war. They never helped any Tigray LGBTQ people. None of the Western States, the European Union, the Rainbow Railroad, or any Western-based LGBTQ organizations ever assisted a single Tigrayan during their 954-day genocide. But they started showing crocodile tears often. The world has seen the open bias on Tigray's LGBTQ people. On the other hand, Tigray LGBTQ people or Tigray orthodox Christian people are suffering at the hands of Muslims run by UNHCR in Sudan. The religiously notorious Afghan Muslims or Muslim-LGBTQ people from the Islamic faith have been rescued, but peaceful and democratic Tigrayans are rejected by not only western powers but also by Rainbow Railroad and other western-based LGBTQ organizations.

Racism and geographical location play a massive role in selecting people for help.

Revealed the black skin, white mask or janus faces of western powers and their international human rights bodies to practice open racism against Tigrayans or Tigryan LGBTQ people during the genocide. There is no genocide or massacre in Afghanistan or Ukraine, but western powers anticipated and protected their brown and white skin.
