“Historically, untouchable caste women enjoyed social
freedom within their Madiga ghetto. If smoking, drinking alcohol, and eating
cow meat is a symbol of eliteness, then why aren’t untouchable women considered
social elite in India? " Historically, Madiga (Untouchable) women
represent radical social change. The history of Brahmin women's smoking and
drinking has a colonial history, unlike Madiga women, who have a long history
of smoking, drinking, and eating cow meat. Historically, untouchables were
certainly democrats. Unlike Brahmin women, who are known for their brutal
ideology, Untouchable women are productive, skilled, critical, philosophers,
hard-working, honest, and moral. But unfortunately, untoucahble women’s life
span is 17 years less than Brahmin women since Madiga women are forced into
caste-based slavery". Dr. Suryaraju
